Before making ANY exterior (and certain interior) modifications to your unit, you must complete a Home Modification Application form, submit it to the Architectural Committee for review, and obtain PRIOR approval from the association's Board of Directors, regardless of what contractors or vendors may tell you. Failure to obtain prior association approval can result in a $300 fine, removal of the unapproved addition, return of the unit to its prior condition, and notification to the City planning and building departments. Examples of typical modifications that require pre-approval are listed on the third page of the application form.
